Updated 7-11-05 This is the place to locate hauntings in the Southern California area. This is by no means exhaustive and will be updated as time permits. If you know of a haunting please feel free to submit information on it, a picture if you have one, and who knows, maybe we can arrange an outing to check it out! Temecula: Received via e-mail from "Marian C." My
sister and I are amateur ghost hunters also, we did some research and
found out that the city of Temecula itself is truly haunted. One reason
for this is because it is almost entirely built on top of an old Indian
village. One of the first store owners here in the 1800's name was Louis
Wolf. When he died they buried him in a tomb along with 5 of his
children on a knoll overlooking part of Temecula now known as Redhawk.
In the 80's when they started building the houses by the Temecula Creek
golf course by where his tomb is located) they built houses all around
the tomb and on either side of it so these days it is right in the
center of a neighborhood and its a strange sight to see. The city of
Temecula wanted to move the tomb and build a house on top of it but
settled to just build all around it. There is soo much more about this
place I would really like to share with people who are interested. Once
you find out all these things you realize no wonder this place is
haunted. Louis Wolf's store is still standing and located on Hwy.79 S.
rite in between Kohls and Famous Footwear. My sister have been there on
a couple of occasions and have taken pictures and digital voice
recorder, after we were there awhile with not much happened, we decided
to leave as we were walking one of the doors started opening slowly with
a really loud squeak like to get our attention my sister and I were so
stoked we started taking our stuff back out for pictures and evp. We
haven't had time to go over them yet but when we do I am sure we have
lots to see. Please let us know if you have heard of Temecula being very
haunted and if you come out here once in a while. There is plenty to
investigate you will not be disappointed with this town. Marian Arcadia: LA County Arboretum: This was once the home of an actor who went by the name of Chief Buffalo Child Long Lance. He claimed to be Native American, but when he was exposed to be African American by a reporter he committed suicide. This occurred in 1932. His ghost has been seen by many including Aaron Spelling. The house was used as Mr. Roarke's house on the TV show Fantasy Island. Location: 301 N. Baldwin Avenue Arcadia, CA 91006. (818) 821-3222 Banning: Payless Shoe Source: Employees report the ghost of a little boy who was struck by a car and killed in front of the shoe store haunts the Payless outlet. Unfortunately the ghost is not reported to appear or be active while the store is open for business. Perhaps you can swing in and photograph you and your friends buying shoes. You never know the little boy may show up!
Brentwood: Marilyn Monroe's Home: Marilyn's final home where she overdosed on sleeping pills. There are some reports of Marilyn being seen in front of the home. Location: 12305 Fifth Helena Drive Brentwood CA 90049 *note* this is a private residence so you probably can't do much except walk past and snap some photos. But you never know.... Colton ** Updated 1-20-05 ** Received via e-mail from "J." I
was shocked to read on your site about the man (ghost) that walked his dog
up and down Agua Mansa Rd. in Colton. I too witnessed this one evening
about dusk... They appeared on the side of the road in front of me, near
the cemetery, and as I passed, I slowed and looked back, and there was no
one there. And no where for them to have gone that quickly. I was
mortified. I considered driving back, as I approached the "duck farm" but
my fear got the best of me and I proceeded on my way. Wow. submitted by visitor: Michelle F. You are looking for haunted places in the Inland Empire? I can tell you of a road and a very old cemetery on that same road that are very haunted. The road is called Agua Mansa Road located in the south side of Colton. The cemetery is called Agua Mansa cemetery, this cemetery is very old and creepy. In this cemetery is the Earp family (Wyatt Earp) this cemetery dates back to the 1800's there is many ghosts reported in and around this cemetery and on Agua Mansa Road. Agua Mansa Road itself is a long and somewhat curvy road that seems to be in the middle of nowhere, its narrow and very dark and many people have died on this road, people have been walking and have been hit by speeding cars, or cars have crashed into telephone poles and other cars because a lot of cars speed down this road. I have heard of a man and his dog that haunt this road, they were hit by a speeding car, and now I heard they appear in front of speeding cars, there are more ghosts I've heard about but this is the ghost I hear most about. The best time to check this road out is late night or early morning, when its still dark out. I suggest like from 10:00pm to about 4:00am when there is less traffic, and I suggest that anyone that goes down this road watch out for speeding cars, so be very careful when driving down this road, and be careful of all the pot holes and trash and other debris on this road (people dump a lot of trash on this road).
Corona: Updated 12-9-04 Submitted by visitor Camille why
not try Corona Burnsite at the end of main street and Corona Canyon rd? my
friends and I are curious to find out if it is haunted cause we have heard
of many paranormal things going on over there which each site....also have
you ever heard of Gravity hill or the Riverside Cemetery which is dated
back long ago? Escondido: Elfin Forest: This is a park located at the junction of Highways 15 and 78. Witnesses to this haunting claim "The White Lady" is a friendly smiling woman who appears during daylight hours and some report she touched them. After the initial contact only then does the observer realize she is a ghost. She has been seen to float a foot above the ground and to pass through solid objects. Elysian Park: Updated 12-9-04 Submitted by visitor Nancy P.
Hemet: Updated 12-9-04 I want to report a haunting I experienced in my old house in Hemet, California. The house is located on Compiegne Dr. in Valle Vista (a suburb of Hemet). The address is 44269. When I was about 6 years-old I remember waking up in the middle of the night to someone rubbing my back (I was asleep on the floor in my parents room) and I turned over and saw nothing. Before we moved out I over heard my parents talking about an elderly woman who died of cancer in the master bedroom (my parents room). Her husband discovered that she was dead when he rubbed her back and her flesh was cold and discolored. I truly believe I was haunted by the woman's husband who had died only months after his wife. Pasadena: Updated 12-9-04 I
was wondering if you had any information on ghost sightings at Huntington
Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. My uncle was recently there and
he claimed that he saw spirits. I've also learned that my Grandfather had
seen stuff when he was there a few years back. Any response would be
excellent. ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS LOCATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED! ***** Pomona: Updated 12-9-04 Submitted by visitor Jeff. The first place I would recommend has many names: Green Mist, ArrowJet, the Haunted Forest. It is in the city of Chino Hills at the very south end of Peyton street. The best way to get there from out of town is to take the 60 freeway and get off at Gary. You would then go south on Gary and make a right onto Peyton (its the 2nd light on Gary). You then take Peyton all the way down, about 4 miles or so, until it ends and you will see a forest (called Las Seranos Forest). You can drive left and just see the creepy forest, and, it is rumored, the ghost of a farmer who died there many years ago. But if you go right there should be a dirt road leading two ways: Up the hill to a facility which was once a government weapons division during the cold war name ArrowJet. The workers are no longer there to tell you you are trespassing and turn you away (as they were when I first started going there in 1998). up this hill, it is rumored, 3 kids back in the early nineties went to get drunk and scare themselves and they never returned. Their ghosts and some other, darker, more sinister force is said to reside on this hill. The
second way, which is to the left of the fork, it is said that a crazy
farmer lives and wears the faces of his pigs that he has slaughtered.
Rumor has it that he does this to scare away people like us that come
looking for ghosts, but another rumor states that he might be the one who
killed the three teenagers I mentioned earlier. Riverside: Updated 12-9-04 Submitted by visitor Valerie F.

Daniel J. Chacón Yucaipa: Updated 12-9-04 Submitted by visitor Amanda There are 2 known places that are haunted in Yucaipa, but I don't think there are any photos. Maybe you could find them? One is "The Red Lady of Pendelton Road." She is said to haunt that area. She is the spirit of a woman who was killed in a car accident there. I don't know which section she is usually spotted at, though I will try to find out. When (if) I find which location to look for her, I will send it. take
I-10 WEST towards LOS ANGELES The
next is the Yucaipa High's old cafeteria, though I'm not sure which
building it is. When I attended, the cafeteria was at it's current
location. **UPDATE** Pendleton Road, Yucaipa A woman was in a car accident and got out of her car to go get help. Her body was found on a small road called Pendleton Road. Yucaipa High School
Oak Glen Road Stairs to Nowhere On Oak
Glen Road in Yucaipa there is a haunted staircase that leads to nowhere.
The story: Two little boys were playing and they found the staircase. One
of the boys went up the staircase with his ball and ten minutes later the
ball rolled down the hill. The other little boy went up and found his
friend dead at the top of the stairs. We would be especially interested in cases located in or around the Inland Empire. So if you are located in Palm Springs, Moreno Valley, San Bernardino, Riverside, Beaumont, Banning, Yucaipa, Temecula, Hemet, San Jacinto, Winchester, Homeland, Romoland, GreenAcres and the like... We want to hear from YOU!
