Well Ghoulies.... Here is something really special! We've received a number of reports regarding a specific road in New Waverly Texas.... "Old Highway 75" to be exact. We don't have any photos of the road (yet...hint...hint...) but we do have another eye-witness to the spooky going-ons down that ol' highway... So we've decided to dedicate a page to that haunting in the hopes that others will contribute their stories and even photos of the area... Buckle Up...

When I
was a college student in 1973 at Sam Houston State University I had attended a
night time play at the
college. When the play ended I began the drive home to Cleveland, Texas on old
highway 75. It was about 9:00 at night.
About midway between Huntsville and New Waverly I noticed a car traveling at a high rate of speed coming up behind me. The car roared up on my bumper. The car then disappeared. There was no sign of the car. It was pitch dark and I was frightened.
I never
again drove old highway 75.
My son
became a student at Sam Houston State. He was driving home from college late at
night. He noticed a car approaching at a fast speed from behind. The car pulled
up on his bumper and disappeared. History had
repeated itself.
He never
again drove on old highway 75.
This tale is a creepy one for sure! Nothing worse than having a pair of headlights rise up from the gloom behind you while your driving down a stretch of dark, lonely highway. Anyone else have this encounter out on the 75?

I too
have experienced the disappearing car on old Highway 75. At first I had thought
it was simply someone turning off the road at a high rate of speed, but I know
that a car making such a turn at that speed would surely end up in a ditch!
My mother used to work in New Waverly, which is about 10 miles south of
Huntsville on 75. (A little history, Highway 75 used to be the main route to get
to Houston, before Interstate 45 was built, so this is an OLD highway, but is
well maintained.)
I was
driving to my mother's job late one night because she needed a ride home from
work. I was running at about 70 mph (nighttime speed limit is 65) and I noticed
lights coming up behind me. This stretch of road has a lot of hills, and in
between the hills, straight stretches.
This car had to be traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph in order to catch up
to me as quickly as it did. When it came upon me, I reached for my rear view
mirror to keep the lights from blinding me. Before I could do it, the lights
were gone.
The car had
simply vanished.
I was so scared I wanted to pull over, but I was more scared of doing
that than anything!
This particular stretch of highway has seen a large number of fatal accidents in
just the time I've lived here. I was married to a wrecker driver, so I'd had
first hand knowledge of most of them.
Since then, I have not driven down that road at night.
So there you have it ladies & gents! 3 eye-witness accounts of weird goings-on down in Texas! If anyone knows anymore information regarding this stretch of road or has photos of the area please
